Compare the fee basis before the headline total

A useful hair transplant quote in Bangkok should state the proposed procedure, the estimated graft count, how the clinic calculates its fee, and what is included. Ask whether you are comparing a price per graft, a fixed package, or an estimate that can change after examination.

This guide helps you compare the written costs and arrangements. The treating doctor should determine whether a transplant is appropriate and propose the treatment plan. Start with our FUE hair transplant page to organize the providers and procedure options you want to discuss.

1. Confirm that both quotes count grafts, not hairs

A graft is a small unit of tissue containing one or more hair follicles, as explained by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS). A quoted number of hairs is therefore not interchangeable with the same number of grafts.

Write the unit beside every figure. Ask the clinic to separate its estimated graft count from any estimated hair count, and to identify the area the doctor proposes treating. If two clinics suggest different graft counts, ask each doctor to explain the plan before comparing the arithmetic. A larger quoted number alone does not establish which plan is appropriate.

2. For a per-graft offer, ask how the final bill is calculated

For a straightforward per-graft offer, the starting calculation is quoted THB per graft × estimated billable grafts. Then check for a minimum procedure charge, separately billed items, and any conditions attached to the quoted rate.

For example, Bangkok Hair Clinic’s partial-shave DHI page, checked on October 19, 2026, describes graft-based pricing and an individual assessment before establishing the budget. This supports asking for a case-specific written offer; it does not establish a fixed rate for every patient. You can keep our Bangkok Hair Clinic profile with your comparison notes.

Ask what the clinic means by “billable grafts”: the planned number, the number extracted, or the number implanted. Request its counting and documentation process, who confirms the final figure, and whether you receive that figure with the invoice. These are questions to resolve with each provider, not assumptions about a clinic’s billing policy.

Also ask what happens if the final count is lower or higher than the estimate. Does the price change proportionally, is there a minimum fee, and how will the clinic obtain your agreement to an increased charge? Keep the answers with the quote.

3. For a package, define the boundaries

If an offer is described as a package, ask for the exact procedure, number of sessions, included graft allowance, and total in Thai baht. Clarify whether the amount is fixed for the agreed plan or only a starting price.

An “up to” figure describes the offer’s limit; it does not tell you the graft count your doctor recommends. Ask what you would pay if the agreed plan uses fewer grafts and how any additional grafts or a further session would be priced.

Keep optional add-ons on separate lines. If the clinic includes a hair-care program or another treatment, ask what it consists of, whether it is optional, and whether declining it changes the total. Do not assign a cash saving to an advertised extra unless the clinic gives you a meaningful written comparison.

4. Match the quoted care and inclusions

Price comparison also needs a named care team. The ISHRS questions for your hair restoration surgeon recommend asking who evaluates you, who performs the surgical steps, and what roles and qualifications the people involved have. Ask the clinic to confirm the named doctor and team arrangements for your proposed date.

Request an inclusion list covering consultation, any proposed tests, anesthesia, medication, washing appointments, and follow-up. For each item, record “included,” “extra,” or “not yet confirmed.” This checklist is about costs; it does not mean you need every item.

Ask how many in-person visits the quote includes and which later contacts can happen remotely. Record who handles questions after you leave Bangkok and any fees for extra appointments. Keep flights, accommodation, and transfers in a separate travel budget unless the written package explicitly includes them.

Use the same units and treatment scope in both columns. A blank or unanswered item stays “confirm,” rather than becoming a zero-cost assumption. If the doctor changes the plan after assessment, request an updated version of the quote.

A message to request an itemized offer

You can adapt this request once you have a proposed procedure:

“I am comparing hair transplant quotes for Bangkok. Please confirm the procedure, named doctor, estimated graft count, and whether your fee is per graft or a package. What minimum charge or graft limit applies? Which count is used for billing, and what happens if it changes? Please list included care, optional extras, and follow-up visits, along with the total in THB, quote validity, deposit credit, and balance due.”

A clear reply should let you fill in the worksheet without guessing. Where the clinic needs an examination before it can answer, mark that item as provisional and ask when it can be confirmed.
